Start of Belarus Fashion Week: press-conference of the 19th edition
On October 14, press conference of Belarus Fashion Week SS 2020 was held. Following organizers and partners of the 19th season of Belarus Fashion Week spoke to the media: Yanina Hancharova, the founder of Belarus Fashion Week and the chairman of the Belarus Fashion Council,; Julia Kurets, PR Manager, Mary Kay®; Mrs. Christina Johannesson, Ambassador of Sweden in Belarus; Olga Johnston-Antonova, the founder of circularfashion.ru and the chairman of the Irish branch of Ecoproject . They announced a rich and interesting program for all guests and participants of the new season.
The founder of Belarus Fashion Week and the chairman of the Belarus Fashion Council, Yanina Hancharova, opened the press conference with a welcoming speech:
“Belarus Fashion Week is a business event that unites designers in one association, where they work together every day to develop their brand. In addition, Belarus Fashion Week is a communication platform where designers meet with colleagues and partners. Every acquaintance and initiative is a tick for me! The 19th season of Belarus Fashion Week is divided into three main areas: sales (Belarus Fashion Week Festival), education (Belarus Fashion Forum, Fashion Tech Hub) and fashion shows. And we thank each partner and participant who invested their resources in creating such a project! ”
Mary Kay ® has been the official makeup artist of Belarus Fashion Week for the 7th season. According to Julia Kurets, PR manager of Mary Kay ®, the team of new season makeup artists, led by guest star makeup artist Alexander Kirinyuk, included 30 people who were carefully selected. Despite the fact that this season, designers have chosen complex beauty images for models, a team of professional makeup artists can easily cope with any task. New to Mary Kay®, a limited collection of products created twice a year especially before the opening of the fashion week seasons around the world, will come to their aid.
Educational program of the current season of Belarus Fashion Week is dedicated to the topic of Sustainable Fashion. Therefore, much attention during the Belarus Fashion Forum will be dedicated to the exchange of experience between foreign experts and Belarusian experts in ethical production issues. The forum was organized with the support of Youth Empowered, Coca Cola HBC Belarus, the Embassy of Sweden in Belarus and Swedish Institute.
This is not the first time the Swedish Embassy in Belarus and personally Mrs. Christina Johannesson have been cooperating with NGO «Belarus Fashion Council».
“It is a great honor to work again with the Belarusian Fashion Chamber as part of Belarus Fashion Week! We are very pleased that this time we were able to make the project more interesting, because our experts from Sweden came here. Today, fashion is something more, it has become part of sustainable development. We are pleased that in Belarus there is such a platform as Belarus Fashion Week, which helps to familiarize consumers with such a movement as responsible fashion and draw attention to relevant problems,” said Mrs. Christina Johannesson.
In addition, Ethical Fashion Show, a personal initiative of Yanina Hancharova, will be held for the second time. Jamido brand and the winner of the New Names Belarus Fashion Week contest - Ksenia Gest will take part in it.
On October 15, the Fashion Tech Hub educational forum will be held on technology in fashion. Professionals from Sweden, Ireland, Germany, Russia, Belarus will give lectures and give answers to the most pressing questions. The project is also supported by the international Youth Empowered program from Coca Cola HBC Belarus.
The press conference was concluded by Olga Johnston-Antonova, the founder of circularfashion.ru and the chairman of the Irish branch of the Ecoproject. On October 16, Olga will act as a speaker at the Belarus Fashion Forum with the theme “Your Guide to the Future Fashion Business. What you need to know about the relationship between sustainability, a cyclical economy, and our clothing. Concepts and innovative technologies.”
Olga Johnston-Antonova said:
“Through fashion, we can find many solutions and broadcast them to the world. For example, the need for alternative materials and green transportation. Belarus is a very green country in the context of production. And the whole world is now trying to switch to the same materials and turn to local production. ”
In the schedule there are exclusive fashion show such as: BALUNOVA Fashion Design Studio, NELVA by HUAWEI, Natalia Korzh, DAVIDOVA inspired by HUAWEI, T. Efremova, Historia Naturalis, Hmylko, Scapegoat_404 by HUAWEI, WOMEN Fashion Brand, Jovanas Couture, Candy Lady.
During the traditional project Kids' Fashion Days, designers and popular companies of children's clothing, shoes and accessories will present their collections, including the brands Mirdada, Leya me, Kudrina, ANKO end Falkovich, Panda Kids, MAKAVKA, Viq & Vicky, Dolce Vita fashion house, Baybardina and MY Studio. And the shows will be attended by representatives of leading Belarusian model schools such as ICY MODELS, Mademoiselle Adr’i, Kids ’Podium, Dolce Vita, ART MODA, MY Studio, model agency KORONA and model school Oksana Zagortseva.
Throughout the entire Fashion Week the country's first department store of Belarusian designer products - Belarus Fashion Week Festival will operate,.
